Northern Ireland is part of tyre history

08-May-2014 We came across this news article from the Belfast News Letter, it makes fascinating reading on how Northern Ireland played its part in transforming the cycling world.  The article traces the story from John Boyd Dunlop inventing tyres using an inflatable tube of sheet rubber and so producing the safety roadster bike with its pneumatic tyres.  The story moves on to the Michelin brothers in France developing this idea and inventing the first removable pneumatic tyre.   Tyres that we use today all developed from this idea.  We are grateful for creative and inventive folks like these.  Our jobs depend on them.
